Nicholas A. Shufro

Nick joined CAVU's Board of Directors in June 2006 after volunteering as an advisor since 2005. Nick assisted CAVU in developing the infrastructure and networks needed by the organization, including articulating a Strategic Plan, developing performance metrics, and introducing CAVU to a broad range of innovative government, industry and not-for-profits working in sustainable development and conservation activities in the United States and across Latin America.

Nick has more than 20 years of energy, water, financial and Environment, Health & Safety management and performance reporting experience, working and consulting for industry, government, trade associations, not-for-profits, utilities and non-governmental agencies in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia. Nick is proud to have graduated from The University of Michigan with an undergraduate degree in Honors History, holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from New York University, and a Masters of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Management.

Nick currently works for PricewaterhouseCoopers' Governance Risk & Compliance assisting corporations in addressing risk, sustainability, and compliance issues, including how to best address climate change and carbon risk. Previously, Nick worked for the U.S.-Asia Environmental Partnership, United Technologies Corporation, The Global Environment Fund, and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.

Nick sits on the Board of Directors for Boundless Playgrounds, The Caribbean Conservation Corporation, and on the Ecologic Development Fund, and on the Executive Committee of the White Water to Blue Water Initiative. Nick is an avid runner and cyclist and lives in Avon, Connecticut, with his wife Jennifer and children Zachary and Julia.
